I'm thrilled with this unit, but I've only had it for a week. It is half the size of the SF-465 so its easy to store in the laundry room and I love the fact that the water tank pops out easily for refill.
After reading the great reviews on this little unit, I decided to give it a try. Let me tell you it blows away the much more expensive SF-465.
Previously I had the SF-465 steamer and it crapped out after a year. You just turn the switch on and you are steaming in 30 seconds.
Here are the advantages, this unit outputs more steam than any other model I have tried with less water drops. You do not have to hold a steam button like many other units.
With the Sf-465 I had to carry a water container back and forth to add water. I'll try to follow up in a few months.
I love this steamer. I set this up in my closet, and its nice and compact, just fits in a little corner. It works well on my tees, jeans, polos, tops khakis etc. It will not make your business shirts look freshly pressed, but is awesome on linen jackets and skirts.
Works great --- 100% cotton shirt took all the wrinkles out --- easier than an iron for sure.
Set up was very easy and I've used it on clothes for work in the morning - much faster and easier than ironing. I've already used this product a lot and I just got it. Steamed some velvet upholstery fabric very nicely. Good for getting wrinkles out but not for getting crisp creases - you still need an iron for that. I also bought this particular model because of the heat of the steam - hoping to steam furniture and household fabric to reduce allergens.
I am very happy with this machine and much prefer it to ironing. Using a door or wall hook seems to help elimate accidental burns or swipes of steam.
The way that I have found that it works best is to hang the clothes on a hook on door or wall so it gives something solid behind the item to more easily steam the garment. I use it every morning for my daily work clothes.
I have owned and used this steamer for four - five months now. Like some other reviewers said, do not let children use this steamer as it does get hot.
Using the brush that comes with it works much better with heavier fabrics such as polos and T-shirts. I take the brush off for polyester and silk items.
The biggest problem I have is running out of water unexpectedly, but that's my fault for not watching the water level. :)
